How to Make Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew is actually REALLY easy to make at home! It will probably even taste better because you have full control over the coffee and ingredients. Also, you can save some cash!

What do you need?

Ground Coffee

Click here for some amazing coffee. You will need to grind it coarse like sea salt.

Filtered Water

Do you have a filter on your fridge? Have you replaced the filter lately (please say yes)?

Do you have a Brita filter?

If you don't have either other of those, you could just use bottled water.

Any of the above will work, just don't use DISTILLED water. Your coffee will not taste good! There's a lot of sciency stuff behind that which we won't get into here so just take my word. No. Distilled. Water.

We use glass jars and a french press. It can be THAT simple. There are TONS of options if want a fancy-schmancy container. Here are some options that are under $50 and got good reviews on Amazon:

That's all you need! See, I told you it was easy.

How to Make Cold Brew

This will make 1 cup of cold brew coffee. Increase as needed.

  1. Add your 1/4 cup coffee to the container

  2. Add 1 cup of water to the container

  3. Gently stir the coffee and water to make sure all the coffee is wet.

  4. Put in the fridge for 12-16 hours. We usually do this at night so it's ready in the morning.

That's it! It's 4 steps. Anyone can do that, right?! Try it and comment below👇🏻 to tell us how it went or tag us on Instagram #distrettocoffee.

Happy Drinking!
